Scope and function:

  • The University of New South Wales (UNSW) provides access to an extensive range of large and small animal imaging equipment, including 3T large-bore MRI (Philips Achieva TX, 50% committed to the NIF), MicroCT, X-ray, ultrasound, optical imaging and an intravital microscope. Equipment to be made available in 2011 includes a PET camera for the MicroCT and a 9.4T horizontal bore MRI. Funding for the MRI was obtained via EIF3.

  • NCRIS funded Facility Officers Dr Michael Green (3T MRI) and Dr Carl Power (BRIL) provide assistance to researchers wishing to access the infrastructure.
